Erinn & Kyle – June 6, 2020

Erinn & Kyle did not have an easy time getting married! Their first wedding was meant to be down south on a beach but…Covid. Everything had to be cancelled – the resort, flights, photographer – but they held out hope!

I was put in touch with them when they tried to quickly plan a popup wedding in Millbrook when the laws allowed 25 people to gather. That law lasted about 5 minutes when it suddenly dropped to 5 people maximum and their Millbrook wedding had to be cancelled.

One night I got a message from Erinn asking me if there is anything they can do to get married. She was just looking for a little bit of hope. I told her yes, we could have a mini wedding with just 5 of us and zoom their friends and family in to watch and listen…and even take part!

I told her to dig out the twinkly lights and start prepping their backyard and we came up with a plan. A cake was ordered, flowers were chosen and the florist hired, music was selected, and dinner for two was ordered. All in a matter of a few hours!

We chose June 6th as it was, before Covid, the most popular, in demand date of 2020. It was THE date to get married this year so I suggested they get the glory of saying they got that date.

They spent the next few weeks tending to their backyard garden, planting, watering, grooming…they wanted it perfect for their big day!

A family member was in charge of tech and had this set up waiting for when I arrived. It was such a good idea to have the bigger mic rather than depending on the laptop’s mic! We could hear everyone watching from their homes, and they could hear us perfectly!

The moment came when we sent out the zoom link and everyone joined in. Erinn walked from the house to the garden and joined Kyle, both of them so ready to get married!

The ceremony included 2 parts where I asked their zoomed guests to speak and take part so they got to experience and be part of this special moment in real time.

Since Erinn had her wedding dress already there was no panic over finding one last minute! She kept it hung up just hoping for the day she would finally get to marry her guy.

The flowers were designed by A Thing of Beauty by Del who serves the southern Ontario region – she dropped them off in the afternoon and got to meet our beautiful bride!

Erinn and Kyle did a lovely job creating their signing and cake table!
The cake was made by a local mom named Hope, and Erinn declared it “the best cake ever!!”. I am definitely bringing Hope in whenever I am creating mini weddings from now on!

Look at how happy they are! So in love and ready to begin their life together! The put Vows over Virus and took the leap with just 5 of us there proving it can be done in a way that feels good. I am sure there will be dozens of celebrations for them now that they can get together with friends and family.
