With everyone spending more time at home, many brides are having to find innovative ways to plan their big day. I see so many posts by brides asked where to register and what they should register for, and fortunately, your wedding registry is one of those tasks that you can take care of from home!

Here are a few tips to help get you started.

The What

To perfect your wedding registry, you need to start with a little inventory. Take a weekend to look at what you currently have, what you want to upgrade and what you would like to have in your home. This can include anything from tabletop goods to items for your kitchen and bathroom. Some couples even ask for small items for their office.

The Where

In most instances, couples put together a wedding registry two to three weeks after getting engaged, so if you haven’t done so yet, now is the best time. People are shopping online more than ever before, so keep this in mind when deciding where you want to be registered. You will also need to do a little research to find the stores and sites that actually stock the items you want.

The Style

You will definitely come across a lot of wedding registry trends as you start setting yours up. What’s really important is that you stay true to your style. You know what you want in your home and how these items will blend in with what’s currently in your home. Go with items that speak to who you are as a couple.

The Numbers

When you’re putting your registry together, it’s important to keep different budgets in mind. Not everyone will be able to spend hundreds of dollars on a gift. When choosing your items, create a list that fits in with a variety of price points. This is not to say you can’t include some expensive items on the list, just don’t make all of them overly pricey. If you do have a higher priced item on your list, a group might go in on it together such as your work friends all chipping in $50 to get you the vacuum cleaner you have your eye on!

If you want some assistance, there are plenty of stores that specialize in wedding registries that are more than willing to assist couples – you just need to have an idea of what you would like.
