It takes months to plan your dream wedding and before you know it, it’s all over. Fortunately, capturing these memories is a way to hang onto your special day.

How you choose to capture your wedding day is one of the decisions you will need to make during the planning process, and videography is one of the options.

I have worked with countless videographers and definitely have my favourites! It’s a good idea to ask your Officiant who they recommend because they will know who works well with others, and what the final product looks like.

I have seen all kinds of weddings videos and the ones that have me bawling along with the bride the the best!

Videography Costs – What You Can Expect

There are a number of factors that can influence the cost of wedding videography services. On average though, you can expect to pay anything from $2,000 to $10,000. Be prepared to pay a deposit or retainer and have your videographer paid in full well before your wedding. Failure to be paid up before you wedding can mean your contract is void and the videographer doesn’t show up.

So, what do you get for your money? Regardless of the package you choose, you can expect the expert services of a videographer, which requires specialized equipment, post-production editing, and your final wedding video.

On top of the base package price, here are some of the extras you might have to pay for:

Travel costs
Extra filming time
Additional editing requests
A tip (not necessary if they own the company!)
Drone footage

Staff requirements
If your videographer requires an assistant, this might cost extra.

Time
Most videography packages include a certain number of hours. If you go over these hours, it will increase the price.

The season
If you choose to get married in peak wedding season, the cost will be higher.

Is It Worth It?

Many couples wonder whether it’s really necessary to hire both a wedding photographer as well as a videographer – yes, it is.
